Improving care for the injured in Uganda<\/h1>\n

Injuries are one of the main causes of long-term disability or death worldwide – and affect low-income countries disproportionately. The mortality and long-term disability rate due to trauma is many times higher in Uganda than in Germany. This is partly due to the lack of adequate emergency care and trained staff. The aim of our project is to introduce certified International Trauma Life Support<\/a> (ITLS) courses to strengthen the skills and knowledge of healthcare personnel and thus improve emergency care for injured people in Uganda.<\/p>\n

Goal<\/h2>\n

The establishment of certified ITLS trauma courses in Uganda strengthens the knowledge and skills of health personnel and thus improves emergency care for injured people throughout the country.<\/p>\n
