A historic moment for emergency medicine in Africa, East Africa, and especially Uganda: Uganda has become one of only five non-European countries to sign an agreement with the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and will officially participate in the ERC Conference 2025 in Rotterdam.

This partnership marks a major step forward in improving resuscitation standards and medical education in Uganda.
Through close collaboration with the ERC, Ugandan professionals in life-saving, emergency care, and first aid will be more closely connected internationally and gain access to state-of-the-art training and certification standards.

Participation in the ERC Conference 2025 provides Uganda with the opportunity to present its progress in establishing its own Resuscitation Council and to work together with international experts on developing strategies to enhance emergency care worldwide.

With this step, Uganda positions itself as a pioneer of high-quality emergency medicine in Africa — a true milestone in global collaboration to improve survival rates, especially in developing countries.
